Optimization solution of vertical rolling force using unified yield criterion

Vertical rolling is an important technique used to control the width of continuous casting slabs in hot-rolling field. Accurate prediction vertical force a core point maintaining rolling-mill equipment. Owing limitation algorithm use, accuracy most models based on energy method can only reach more than 10%. Therefore, it challenging optimize rolling-force model improve accuracy. An innovative approach for optimizing calculation with unified yield criterion presented this paper. First, maximal dog-bone region determined by slip-line method, and shape described using sine-function model. Second, velocity corresponding strain-rate fields satisfying kinematically admissible conditions are proposed calculate total power process. Finally, analytical solution dog-bone-shape obtained repeatedly weighted coefficient b intermediate principal shear stress criterion. Moreover, effectiveness mechanical verified measured data strip field other models’ results. Results show that be improved value b. Then, impacts reduction rate, initial thickness, friction factor size discussed.
